《诗(shi)》云:"瞻彼(bi)淇澳,侵疋(ya)⑩。有斐(fei)君子(zi),如(ru)切(qie)如磋,如琢(zhuo)如磨。瑟兮(xi)兮,赫兮暄兮。有斐(fei)君子,终不可召猓""如切如(ru)磋"者(zhe),道学也。"如(ru)琢(zhuo)如磨"者,自修也(ye)。"瑟兮兮"者,恂也(ye)。"赫兮喧兮"者(zhe),威仪也。"有(you)斐君子,终不可召"者(zhe),道盛德至(zhi)善,民之(zhi)不能忘也。《诗》云:"于戏前王不忘!"君子贤其贤而亲其(qi)亲,小人(ren)乐其乐而利其利(li),此以(yi)没(mei)世(shi)不忘也。《康(kang)诰》曰:"克明德。"《大甲》曰(yue):"顾天(tian)之明命。"《帝典》曰:"克(ke)明(ming)峻德。"皆自明也。汤之《盘铭》曰:"苟日新,日日新,又日新。"《康诰》曰:"作新(xin)民。"《诗(shi)》曰(yue):"周虽旧邦(bang),其(qi)命惟新。"是故(gu)君(jun1)子(zi)无所不(bu)用其极。《诗》云:"邦畿(ji)千(qian)里,惟民所止。"《诗》云:"缗蛮黄鸟,止于丘(qiu)隅。"子曰:"于止(zhi),知其(qi)所止。可(ke)以人而(er)不如(ru)鸟乎?"《诗(shi)》云:"穆穆文(wen)王(wang),于缉熙敬(jing)止!"为(wei)人(ren)君,止于仁(ren);为人臣,止(zhi)于(yu)敬(jing);为人子,止于孝;为人父,止于慈(ci);与国人(ren)交,止于信。子(zi)曰(yue):"听讼,吾(wu)犹人也(ye)。必(bi)也使(shi)无讼(song)乎!"无(wu)情(qing)者(zhe)不得尽(jin)其辞,大畏民志(zhi)。此谓(wei)知本。
