《诗》云(yun):"瞻彼(bi)淇澳,侵疋⑩。有斐君子,如(ru)切如(ru)磋,如琢如磨。瑟兮兮,赫(he)兮暄兮(xi)。有斐(fei)君(jun1)子,终不可召猓""如切如磋"者,道学也。"如琢(zhuo)如磨(mo)"者,自修也。"瑟(se)兮(xi)兮"者,恂也(ye)。"赫兮喧兮(xi)"者,威仪也。"有斐君子(zi),终不可(ke)召"者(zhe),道(dao)盛德至善(shan),民(min)之不能忘(wang)也(ye)。《诗》云:"于(yu)戏前(qian)王不(bu)忘!"君子(zi)贤其贤而亲其亲,小人(ren)乐其(qi)乐而利其利,此以(yi)没世不(bu)忘也(ye)。《康诰》曰:"克明德。"《大甲》曰:"顾天之明(ming)命。"《帝(di)典》曰:"克明峻德。"皆自(zi)明也(ye)。汤之《盘铭(ming)》曰:"苟(gou)日新,日日新,又日(ri)新。"《康(kang)诰(gao)》曰:"作新民。"《诗(shi)》曰:"周虽(sui)旧邦,其(qi)命惟(wei)新。"是故君子无所不(bu)用其极。《诗(shi)》云:"邦(bang)畿千(qian)里,惟民所止。"《诗》云:"缗蛮黄鸟(niao),止于(yu)丘(qiu)隅。"子曰:"于止,知(zhi)其所止(zhi)。可(ke)以人而不(bu)如(ru)鸟乎?"《诗》云(yun):"穆穆文(wen)王,于缉熙敬止!"为人(ren)君,止于(yu)仁(ren);为(wei)人臣,止于敬;为(wei)人子(zi),止于孝;为(wei)人(ren)父,止于慈(ci);与国人交,止于(yu)信。子曰(yue):"听讼(song),吾(wu)犹(you)人也。必也使无讼(song)乎!"无情(qing)者不得(de)尽其辞,大(da)畏民志。此谓(wei)知本。
