空空道人听(ting)如此说,思(si)忖半(ban)晌,将《石头记》再检阅一(yi)遍,因见上面(mian)虽有些(xie)指奸(jian)责佞贬(bian)恶诛邪之(zhi)语,亦非伤时骂世之旨(zhi),及至君仁臣良父慈子孝(xiao),凡伦常所关之处(chu),皆是称功(gong)颂德(de),眷眷无穷,实非(fei)别(bie)书(shu)之可比(bi).虽其中大旨谈情,亦不过实录其(qi)事,又非假(jia)拟妄称(cheng),一味(wei)淫邀艳约,私订偷盟(meng)之可(ke)比.因(yin)毫不(bu)干涉(she)时(shi)世(shi),方从头至尾抄录回(hui)来,问世传奇.从此(ci)空空(kong)道人(ren)因空见色,由色生情(qing),传情入(ru)色,自色悟空,遂易名为情僧,改《石(shi)头记》为(wei)《情僧录》.东鲁孔梅溪(xi)则题曰《风月(yue)宝鉴》.后因曹(cao)雪(xue)芹于悼红轩中披阅十载(zai),增删五次(ci),纂(zuan)成目(mu)录(lu),分(fen)出(chu)章回,则题曰《金陵十二钗》.并题(ti)一绝(jue)云(yun):
