空空道人听如(ru)此说,思忖半(ban)晌,将(jiang)《石头记》再检阅一(yi)遍,因见上面虽有些(xie)指奸责佞(ning)贬恶诛邪之语,亦(yi)非伤(shang)时骂世(shi)之旨,及(ji)至(zhi)君仁(ren)臣良父慈(ci)子孝,凡伦(lun)常(chang)所关(guan)之处(chu),皆是称功颂德,眷(juan)眷(juan)无(wu)穷,实非别书之可比(bi).虽其中(zhong)大旨谈情,亦不过实录其(qi)事,又非假(jia)拟妄称,一(yi)味淫邀(yao)艳约(yue),私订偷盟之可(ke)比.因毫不干涉时世(shi),方(fang)从头至(zhi)尾抄录(lu)回来,问世传奇.从(cong)此空(kong)空道人(ren)因空见色(se),由色生情(qing),传情入(ru)色,自色悟空,遂易(yi)名为情僧,改《石头记(ji)》为《情(qing)僧录》.东鲁孔梅溪(xi)则题曰《风月宝(bao)鉴(jian)》.后(hou)因(yin)曹雪芹于悼红(hong)轩中(zhong)披阅十载(zai),增(zeng)删五次(ci),纂成(cheng)目录,分出(chu)章回,则(ze)题曰《金陵十(shi)二(er)钗》.并题(ti)一绝(jue)云:
