空空道人(ren)听如此(ci)说,思忖半晌,将《石头记》再(zai)检阅(yue)一遍,因见上面虽有(you)些(xie)指奸责佞贬恶诛邪(xie)之(zhi)语(yu),亦非伤(shang)时骂世之旨(zhi),及(ji)至君仁臣良父慈(ci)子孝,凡伦常所关之(zhi)处,皆是称功颂德(de),眷眷无穷,实(shi)非别(bie)书之可比.虽其(qi)中大旨谈情,亦不过实(shi)录(lu)其事(shi),又非(fei)假拟妄(wang)称(cheng),一味淫邀艳约,私订(ding)偷盟(meng)之可(ke)比.因毫不干涉(she)时世,方从头至尾(wei)抄(chao)录回来(lai),问世传(chuan)奇(qi).从此空(kong)空道人(ren)因空(kong)见色,由色生情,传情入色,自色悟空,遂(sui)易(yi)名(ming)为情僧,改《石头记》为《情僧录》.东鲁孔(kong)梅(mei)溪则题曰《风(feng)月(yue)宝鉴(jian)》.后(hou)因(yin)曹雪芹于(yu)悼红(hong)轩中披(pi)阅十载(zai),增删五次(ci),纂成(cheng)目录,分出章回,则题(ti)曰《金陵十二钗》.并题一绝云:
