夫祭之为物大矣,其(qi)兴(xing)物备矣,顺以(yi)备(bei)者也(ye),其教之本与?是故(gu),君子之教 也,外(wai)则教(jiao)之以尊其君长(zhang),内则教之(zhi)以(yi)孝于其亲。是故,明(ming)君(jun1)在上,则诸(zhu)臣服从, 崇事宗庙社稷(ji),则子孙顺孝(xiao)。尽(jin)其道(dao),端(duan)其义,而教(jiao)生(sheng)焉(yan)。是(shi)故君(jun1)子之事君(jun1)也(ye), 必身(shen)行之,所不安于(yu)上,则不(bu)以使下;所(suo)恶于下,则不(bu)以(yi)事上;非诸人,行(hang)诸己, 非教之道也。是故君(jun1)子之教(jiao)也,必由其本,顺之至(zhi)也,祭其是与?故(gu)曰:"祭者(zhe), 孝(xiao)之(zhi)本也已。"
