"大哉圣人之道!洋洋乎发育万(wan)物,峻极于天。优优大(da)哉!礼(li)仪三(san)百,威(wei)仪三千,待其(qi)人然(ran)后行。故曰:苟不(bu)至(zhi)德,至道不凝(ning)焉。故(gu)君(jun1)子尊(zun)德性(xing)而道问学,致广(guang)大而尽精(jing)微,极高明(ming)而道(dao)中(zhong)庸;温故而知新,敦厚以崇(chong)礼(li)。是故居上不骄,为下(xia)不倍(bei);国有道,其言足(zu)以兴(xing);国无道,其默足(zu)以容。《诗(shi)》曰:''既明且哲(zhe),以保其身(shen)。''其此之(zhi)谓(wei)与!"子曰:"愚而好自(zi)用(yong),贱(jian)而(er)好自专;生乎今之世(shi),反古(gu)之道。如(ru)此者,及其(qi)身者也。"非(fei)天子,不(bu)议礼,不(bu)制度,不考(kao)文。今天下(xia)车同(tong)轨,书(shu)同文,行同(tong)伦。虽有其位,苟无其德,不敢作礼(li)乐(le)焉;虽有(you)其德,苟无(wu)其位,亦不敢作礼乐(le)焉。
