古(gu)之欲(yu)明(ming)明德于天下者,先(xian)治其国。欲(yu)治其国(guo)者,先齐(qi)其家。欲(yu)齐其家者,先(xian)修其身。欲修其身者(zhe),先正其心。欲(yu)正(zheng)其心者,先诚其意。欲诚(cheng)其意者,先致其知。致(zhi)知(zhi)在(zai)格(ge)物。物格而后(hou)知至(zhi),知至(zhi)而后意诚,意诚(cheng)而(er)后(hou)心正,心(xin)正而后身(shen)修(xiu),身修而后家齐,家齐而(er)后国治(zhi),国治(zhi)而(er)后(hou)天下平。自天子(zi)以至于庶人,壹是(shi)皆以修(xiu)身为(wei)本,其(qi)本(ben)乱而末(mo)治者否矣。其所厚(hou)者薄,而其(qi)所薄(bao)者厚,未之有(you)也。此谓(wei)知本,此谓(wei)知之至也。
