"大(da)哉圣(sheng)人之(zhi)道!洋洋乎发育万(wan)物,峻极于天。优(you)优大哉!礼(li)仪三(san)百(bai),威仪三千(qian),待(dai)其人(ren)然(ran)后行。故曰:苟不至德,至道不凝焉。故君子(zi)尊德性而道问(wen)学(xue),致广(guang)大而尽精微,极高明而道中庸;温故(gu)而(er)知新(xin),敦厚以崇礼。是(shi)故居上(shang)不(bu)骄,为(wei)下不倍;国有道,其(qi)言足(zu)以兴;国(guo)无(wu)道(dao),其默足以容。《诗》曰:''既(ji)明且哲,以保其(qi)身。''其此之谓与!"子(zi)曰:"愚而好自用(yong),贱(jian)而好自专;生乎今之(zhi)世,反古之(zhi)道。如此者,及(ji)其身者也。"非天子(zi),不议(yi)礼(li),不制(zhi)度,不考文(wen)。今天下(xia)车同(tong)轨,书(shu)同(tong)文,行同(tong)伦(lun)。虽有其(qi)位,苟无其德(de),不(bu)敢作礼乐焉;虽(sui)有(you)其德,苟无(wu)其位,亦不敢作礼乐焉(yan)。
