夫祭之(zhi)为(wei)物大矣,其(qi)兴(xing)物备矣,顺以备者也,其教(jiao)之本与(yu)?是故(gu),君子之教 也,外则教(jiao)之(zhi)以尊(zun)其(qi)君长,内则教(jiao)之以孝于其亲。是故,明君在上(shang),则诸臣服(fu)从, 崇事宗庙(miao)社稷,则子孙顺孝。尽其道,端其义,而教(jiao)生(sheng)焉(yan)。是故(gu)君子(zi)之事君也, 必(bi)身(shen)行之,所不安于上,则不(bu)以使下(xia);所恶于下,则不以事上;非(fei)诸人,行诸己, 非教(jiao)之(zhi)道也。是故(gu)君子之(zhi)教也(ye),必由其本,顺之(zhi)至(zhi)也(ye),祭(ji)其(qi)是(shi)与?故曰(yue):"祭者, 孝(xiao)之本也(ye)已。"
