当日(ri)这贾妃(fei)未入(ru)宫时(shi),自(zi)幼亦系贾(jia)母(mu)教养.后来添(tian)了宝玉(yu),贾妃乃(nai)长(zhang)姊,宝玉为弱弟,贾妃之心上念母年将迈,始得此弟,是以怜爱(ai)宝玉(yu),与诸(zhu)弟(di)待(dai)之不同.且(qie)同随(sui)祖母,刻(ke)未暂离.那(na)宝玉未入学堂之先,三四岁时,已得贾妃手(shou)引口传,教(jiao)授(shou)了几本书,数(shu)千字在腹内了.其名(ming)分虽系(xi)姊(zi)弟,其情状有如母子.自入(ru)宫后(hou),时时带信出来(lai)与(yu)父母说:千(qian)万(wan)好生扶养,不严不能成器,过严恐生(sheng)不(bu)虞(yu),且致父(fu)母之忧。眷念(nian)切爱(ai)之心,刻未能忘.前(qian)日(ri)贾政(zheng)闻塾(shu)师背(bei)后(hou)赞宝玉偏才尽有,贾政(zheng)未信,适巧遇园已(yi)落(luo)成,令(ling)其(qi)题撰,聊一试其(qi)情思(si)之清浊.其所(suo)拟之(zhi)匾(bian)联虽非妙(miao)句,在幼(you)童为(wei)之(zhi),亦或(huo)可取(qu).即另(ling)使名公大(da)笔为之(zhi),固不费难,然(ran)想来(lai)倒(dao)不(bu)如(ru)这(zhe)本家风味(wei)有趣.更使贾(jia)妃(fei)见(jian)之,知系其爱弟所为,亦或不负其素日切(qie)望之意.因有这段原委,故(gu)此竟用(yong)了宝玉所题之联额.那日虽(sui)未曾题完,后来(lai)亦(yi)曾补拟.
