空空道人听如(ru)此说,思忖半(ban)晌,将(jiang)《石头记》再(zai)检阅(yue)一遍,因(yin)见上面(mian)虽有些指奸责佞(ning)贬(bian)恶诛(zhu)邪之语,亦(yi)非伤时骂世之(zhi)旨,及至君(jun1)仁臣良父慈子(zi)孝(xiao),凡伦常所关(guan)之(zhi)处,皆是称功(gong)颂德(de),眷眷无穷,实非别书之可比.虽其(qi)中(zhong)大旨谈情(qing),亦不过(guo)实录其(qi)事(shi),又非假(jia)拟妄(wang)称(cheng),一味(wei)淫邀艳约,私订(ding)偷盟之可(ke)比.因毫不干涉时世,方从(cong)头至尾抄录回来(lai),问(wen)世(shi)传奇.从此空空道人因(yin)空见(jian)色,由色生(sheng)情,传(chuan)情入色,自色(se)悟空,遂易(yi)名为情僧,改(gai)《石(shi)头记》为《情僧录》.东鲁(lu)孔(kong)梅(mei)溪(xi)则题曰《风月宝鉴》.后因曹(cao)雪芹于悼红轩中(zhong)披阅(yue)十载,增删五次,纂成目录(lu),分出章回,则题曰(yue)《金陵十二钗》.并题一绝云:
