空空(kong)道人听(ting)如此说,思忖半晌,将《石头(tou)记》再(zai)检阅一遍,因见(jian)上面虽(sui)有些指奸责佞贬恶诛邪之语,亦非(fei)伤时(shi)骂(ma)世之旨,及至君仁臣良父慈子孝,凡(fan)伦常所关(guan)之处,皆(jie)是称功颂德,眷眷无穷(qiong),实(shi)非别书之可比.虽其中大(da)旨谈情(qing),亦不过实(shi)录其事(shi),又非(fei)假拟妄称(cheng),一味淫邀艳约(yue),私订偷(tou)盟之可比(bi).因(yin)毫不(bu)干(gan)涉时世(shi),方从头(tou)至尾抄(chao)录回来(lai),问世传奇.从此(ci)空空(kong)道人因(yin)空见色,由色生情,传(chuan)情入色(se),自色悟空(kong),遂(sui)易名为情僧,改《石头记》为《情僧(seng)录》.东(dong)鲁孔梅溪则题曰《风月(yue)宝(bao)鉴》.后(hou)因曹(cao)雪芹于悼红轩(xuan)中(zhong)披阅十载(zai),增删五(wu)次,纂成目录,分(fen)出(chu)章回,则题曰《金陵十(shi)二钗(chai)》.并(bing)题一绝云:
