当日(ri)这(zhe)贾妃未(wei)入(ru)宫(gong)时,自幼(you)亦(yi)系贾(jia)母教养.后来(lai)添了(le)宝玉,贾妃乃(nai)长(zhang)姊,宝(bao)玉为弱弟,贾(jia)妃之心上念(nian)母(mu)年将迈,始得此弟,是以怜爱(ai)宝(bao)玉,与诸弟待之(zhi)不同(tong).且同随(sui)祖(zu)母,刻未暂离(li).那宝玉未入学堂之先,三四(si)岁(sui)时,已得贾妃(fei)手引口传(chuan),教(jiao)授了几本(ben)书,数千字在腹内(nei)了.其名(ming)分虽(sui)系(xi)姊(zi)弟(di),其(qi)情状有如母子(zi).自(zi)入宫(gong)后,时(shi)时带信出来与父(fu)母(mu)说:千(qian)万好生(sheng)扶养(yang),不严不能成器,过严恐(kong)生(sheng)不虞,且致父母之忧。眷念(nian)切爱之(zhi)心,刻未能忘(wang).前日贾政闻塾师背后赞宝玉(yu)偏才(cai)尽有,贾政未信,适巧(qiao)遇园已落成(cheng),令其题撰,聊(liao)一试其(qi)情思之清浊.其所拟之匾联虽非妙(miao)句,在幼童为之(zhi),亦或可取(qu).即另(ling)使名(ming)公大笔为之,固不费难,然想来倒不(bu)如这本(ben)家风味(wei)有(you)趣.更使贾妃见(jian)之,知系其爱弟所为(wei),亦或不负其素日(ri)切望(wang)之(zhi)意.因有这段原委,故此竟用了宝玉(yu)所题之联(lian)额(e).那日虽(sui)未(wei)曾(ceng)题完,后来亦(yi)曾补拟.
