《诗》云(yun):"瞻彼淇(qi)澳(ao),侵(qin)疋(ya)⑩。有(you)斐(fei)君子,如(ru)切(qie)如(ru)磋,如琢(zhuo)如磨。瑟(se)兮兮,赫兮(xi)暄(xuan)兮。有斐(fei)君(jun1)子(zi),终不(bu)可召猓(guo)""如切如磋"者(zhe),道学也。"如琢如磨"者(zhe),自(zi)修也。"瑟兮兮"者,恂也。"赫兮(xi)喧(xuan)兮(xi)"者,威仪(yi)也。"有(you)斐君子,终不可召"者,道(dao)盛德(de)至(zhi)善,民之不能(neng)忘也。《诗》云:"于(yu)戏前王不忘!"君子(zi)贤其贤而亲其亲,小人乐其乐而利(li)其利,此以没(mei)世不(bu)忘也。《康诰》曰:"克明德。"《大甲》曰:"顾天(tian)之明命(ming)。"《帝典》曰:"克明峻德。"皆(jie)自明也。汤(tang)之《盘铭(ming)》曰(yue):"苟日新(xin),日日新,又(you)日新。"《康(kang)诰(gao)》曰(yue):"作新(xin)民。"《诗》曰:"周虽旧邦,其命惟新。"是故(gu)君子无所(suo)不用(yong)其极(ji)。《诗》云:"邦畿千(qian)里,惟民(min)所止(zhi)。"《诗》云(yun):"缗(min)蛮黄鸟,止于丘隅。"子(zi)曰:"于止,知(zhi)其所止。可以人而不如(ru)鸟乎?"《诗》云(yun):"穆(mu)穆(mu)文(wen)王,于缉熙(xi)敬止!"为人君,止于仁;为人臣,止于敬;为人子,止(zhi)于孝(xiao);为(wei)人父,止于慈;与国人交,止(zhi)于信。子曰(yue):"听讼,吾(wu)犹人也。必(bi)也(ye)使(shi)无(wu)讼(song)乎(hu)!"无(wu)情者不得尽其辞,大畏民(min)志。此谓(wei)知(zhi)本。
