"大哉圣人(ren)之道(dao)!洋洋(yang)乎(hu)发育万物,峻(jun4)极(ji)于天(tian)。优(you)优(you)大(da)哉!礼(li)仪三百,威(wei)仪三千,待(dai)其人(ren)然后行。故曰:苟不至(zhi)德,至(zhi)道不凝焉(yan)。故(gu)君子尊(zun)德(de)性而(er)道问学,致(zhi)广(guang)大(da)而(er)尽精微(wei),极高明而(er)道(dao)中庸(yong);温故而知新,敦厚以崇礼。是故居上不骄,为下(xia)不倍;国(guo)有道,其(qi)言足以兴;国(guo)无道,其默足以容。《诗》曰:''既明(ming)且哲(zhe),以保其(qi)身。''其此之(zhi)谓与!"子曰:"愚(yu)而好自用(yong),贱(jian)而好自专;生乎(hu)今之世(shi),反古之道。如(ru)此者,及其身者也。"非(fei)天子,不议(yi)礼,不制度,不考文。今天(tian)下车同(tong)轨(gui),书同(tong)文,行(hang)同伦。虽有其位,苟(gou)无其德,不敢作礼乐焉;虽有其(qi)德,苟(gou)无(wu)其位,亦不(bu)敢作礼乐焉。
