空空(kong)道(dao)人听如此说,思(si)忖(cun)半(ban)晌(shang),将《石头记》再检(jian)阅一(yi)遍,因见上面虽(sui)有些指奸责佞贬恶诛邪之语,亦非(fei)伤时骂世之旨(zhi),及(ji)至君仁臣良父慈子孝,凡(fan)伦常(chang)所(suo)关之处,皆是称功颂德,眷(juan)眷无穷,实(shi)非别书之可比.虽其(qi)中大旨谈情,亦不过实录其事,又非(fei)假拟妄称(cheng),一(yi)味淫邀艳约(yue),私订(ding)偷盟(meng)之可比.因(yin)毫(hao)不干(gan)涉(she)时世,方从头至尾(wei)抄录回(hui)来,问世传奇.从此空(kong)空道人因(yin)空见(jian)色(se),由色生情,传情入色,自色(se)悟空(kong),遂易名为情僧,改(gai)《石(shi)头(tou)记》为《情僧(seng)录(lu)》.东鲁孔梅溪则(ze)题曰(yue)《风(feng)月宝鉴(jian)》.后因曹(cao)雪芹于悼(dao)红轩中(zhong)披(pi)阅十(shi)载,增删五次,纂成(cheng)目录(lu),分(fen)出章回(hui),则题曰《金(jin)陵十二钗》.并题一绝云:
